“All Time Best Instructor”

The word of God continues to prove itself to be true. “But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons…” I Timothy 4:1 NASB. It’s evident to me that most “Christians” do not study God’s word. I’m not sure where a lot people get their beliefs from, nor do I understand what they base their doctrines on. I am inclined to believe that some have departed from the faith and are paying attention to deceitful spirits. Many people today visit the local “christian” book store to get the latest copy of theological instruction written by Pastor so and so. This is their main source of Spiritual nourishment. I sure wish people would study God’s word and believe it, like they study and believe what the latest, greatest, best selling, millionaire author had to say. I’m not against reading books, I’m for reading “THE BOOK”. It’s a shame that books written in this modern era have a greater influence on what Christians believe, and how they behave than the Bible does. Could it be that we need to put down the modern “best seller” and pick up the “All Time best instructor”?
