Have you ever known someone so super spiritual that they couldn’t see the forest for the trees. I often wonder if there is any hope for someone in this condition. I struggle with how to reach out to someone so arrogant. I’m reminded of Nathan when he went to David and revealed just how sinful, and cruel David had become. David didn’t realize how far he had gotten off track. Even though David knew the things he was doing was wrong, he didn’t think he would get caught, and he was even less concerned about any of the consequences of his sin. Yet when Nathan confronted him, he knew he had to repent. What about us today? Could it be that we have went astray just like David? Could it be that the path we walk is tainted with self-indulgence, greed and boastful arrogance? If God sends us a Nathan, would we do the right thing and repent? Or would we refuse to accept that we “are that man”? Lord God, my prayer is that I would seek you daily and find you. Keep me ever close to your side and protect my vision from being blinded. If sin lurks in my life please send a Nathan to reveal it, and humble me to repentance. In Jesus name, Amen.
