“His Mercy”

September 18, 2011 (Ezekiel 45-46; Luke 1)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “And His mercy is upon generation after generation toward those who fear Him.” Luke 1:50 NASB

Observation: Mary testified of God’s mercy toward those who fear Him. It flows from generation to generation blessing His whole creation. To fear the Lord is to respect Him and honor Him in our daily lives and actions.

Application: We all want and need God’s mercy, but are we willing to do what is required to receive it? Mercy is extended to those who fear God and walk in humility. To be arrogant and puffed up will most definitely lead you to a place where you need mercy. It’s far better to fear the Lord and rest in His mercy than to walk disorderly and be found far away from it.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I need Your mercy everyday. Thank You for extending Your mercy from generation to generation. Bless me with Your Spirit and anoint me to walk according to Your standards. Help me discern between what’s right or wrong and what’s holy or unclean. In Jesus name, Amen.

“Is Your Robe Washed?”

September 17, 2011 (Ezekiel 42-44; Revelation 22)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14 NASB

Observation: Those who have on a robe of righteousness will be permitted to enter into the new heavenly city. They will have the right to eat from the tree of life and live eternally. They will be blessed among all people and nations because of the cleansing power of the blood of the Lamb. They have washed their robe with the blood of Jesus and been clothed with righteousness white as snow.

Application: So where’s the ticket booth? I see no reference of a money exchanger collecting from those entering. I see no reference of those being able to buy their way in at any price. A robe of righteousness is what the requirement is. The only way to possess such robe is through Jesus Christ. There is no other way or means. No one will enter through the gates of that city without a robe of righteousness provided by Jesus the Christ. Has He washed you?

Prayer: Dear Lord, I so look forward to the day of that city. You are wonderful and merciful to offer such a sinner as me the opportunity to enter that heavenly place. With the blood of Jesus applied I’m assured I can enter through the gate clothed in proper attire. Thank You Lord! I pray today for those who have yet to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Go after the lost today Lord, one more time knock on the door of their heart. May they open the door and invite You in. May their lives be changed forever more, in Jesus name, Amen!

“Their part will be”

September 16, 2011 (Ezekiel 40-41; Psalm 128; Revelation 21)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 NASB

Observation: What joy and splendor await those who are faithful to the end and overcome, but woe to the one’s who have rejected God and His holy standards. God’s judgment of sin will be just and fair. Those who walk contrary to God’s ways will have their part, or place, in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone. This is the second death and eternal separation from God.

Application: Here we read a warning of what’s to come to those who walk in sin. I can’t think of a better reason why we should guard ourselves from sin! A lake that burns with fire and brimstone don’t sound to pleasant to me. So much more the reason we should repent and walk away from sin today! And don’t miss that “all liars” part, don’t you want to start speaking the truth now?

Prayer: Father, as I read Your word sometimes it seems so extreme, but I know Your ways are higher than mine. I know You will justly and rightly judge sin and the punishment will fit the crime. Deliver me from the paths of sin. Keep me from any way or thing that displeases You. Make me what You want me to be. By Your Spirit strengthen me to overcome, by the blood of the Lamb cleanse me and make me whole. In Jesus name, Amen.

“I Dealt with Them”

September 15, 2011 (Ezekiel 38-39; Psalm 145; Revelation 20)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I dealt with them, and I hid My face from them.” Ezekiel 39:24 NASB

Observation: The children of Israel forced God to deal with them because of their refusal to repent and turn from wicked ways. God dealt with them according to their deeds. The filth of sin had to be dealt with, God could not stand to see His people walking in such ways.

Application: Sin and wickedness must be dealt with. We can choose to seek God and learn how He would have us deal with it, or we can continue in sin and God will deal with it. It’s a far better choice if we make the effort to learn of God’s Holy standards and apply them to our life. Through Christ we are made righteous in God’s eyes, but we must repent and turn from wickedness or else Christ sacrifice will not remain and the only thing left will be a fearful looking for of judgment. See Hebrews 10:26-27

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for this day. I praise You for who You are. Help me Lord deal with sin and wickedness in a way that pleases You. Cast it far from me, for I desire to walk in Your righteousness. By Your Spirit, help me walk right. I ask You to forgive me of all sin in my life, reveal to me sin I need to repent of. Turn Your face toward me and shine Your grace and mercy on me. In Jesus name, Amen.

“Matrimonial Bliss”

September 14, 2011 (Ezekiel 36-37; Psalm 110; Revelation 19)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready. It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” Revelation 19: 7-8 NASB

Observation: The wedding day is coming. Just as a bride spends hours preparing and making herself ready for her wedding day, the bride of Christ, the church, makes herself ready and she is clothed in fine linen, bright and clean. No stains, no spots, no blemishes. The fine linen the bride is clothed in is the righteous acts of the saints. Let us rejoice and be glad and give all the glory to God.

Application: What does “His bride has made herself ready” mean? What? We must prepare ourselves for the wedding day? The bride of Christ will be clothed in bright and clean fine linen. This fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. So how about you, are you prepared for Christ? Do you have righteous acts to be clothed with? There’s no better day than today to start getting ready for the wedding day, it’s coming. Get ready, so you can rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him in that hour!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father thank You for Your grace and mercy. Thank You for Your strength that gets me through each day. Help me Lord I pray, prepare myself for that wedding day. May the acts and deeds I perform be righteous in Your site and acceptable attire for that wedding day. Lord Jesus, come quickly and deliver Your bride to that great day of matrimonial bliss. In Jesus name, Amen.

“Eroding Righteousness”

September 13, 2011 (Ezekiel 33-35; Revelation 18)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “When I say to the righteous he will surely live, and he so trust in his righteousness that he commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but in that same iniquity of his which he has committed he will die.” Ezekiel 33:13 NASB

Observation: God demands full separation from sin. Partial separation is not acceptable. Separating from sin for a time and then returning to sin is not acceptable either. You must choose who you are going to serve and make the commitment. God will not be second to anyone or anything. Accepting Christ as Lord is eternal commitment on His part, and on yours as well!

Application: We know that God says, whosoever believes in Christ shall be made righteous and shall not perish. In Christ we have confidence and assurance of receiving the promise of everlasting life. But what if we so trust in the righteousness that Christ gives that we commit iniquity? Can we really claim to have possession of the righteousness of Christ and willingly sin? If we refuse to repent and turn back to God will we not die in the iniquity which we have committed? Is the pleasures of sin really worth the risk of your soul?

Prayer: Father help us to realize the truth of Your word. Help us to remember You don’t change, and the standards You had in the day of Ezekiel are still the same standards You have today! Keep me from iniquity! Establish my trust in You in reverent fear of Your position. You are God, You alone have the power to extinguish the human life and cast the soul into hell. May I ever abide in Christ and walk according to Your standards, in Jesus name, Amen.

“Building My Kingdom”

September 12, 2011 (Daniel 3-4; Psalm 81; Revelation 17)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “The king reflected and said, “Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?” Daniel 4:30 NASB

Observation: King Nebuchadnezzar was in for a rude awakening. He was so prideful and arrogant that he felt Babylon was built by his power and might. He had spent years of blood, sweat and tears building his kingdom only to find out he was weak and inadequate. His true strength was about to be revealed when his mind was changed into that of a beast.

Application: I believe many do the same thing today in the church world. Multitudes of blood, sweat and tears have been expelled building up kingdoms here on earth. Many church leaders stand high and self exalted at what they have built with their power and might. They have set up kingdoms and cabinets that must be defended at all cost. Sadly, the biggest enemy of the church today, is another church. How can we say we’re building God’s Kingdom when everything we do is surrounded by our own prosperity?

Prayer: Dear Lord give us a clear vision! Remove the scales that have blinded the eyes of Your people. Help us realize, like Nebuchadnezzar, that all kingdoms are built by You and are not the works of our own hands. Let us put aside the selfish acts of pride and arrogance and begin today working to build Your Kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen.
