“Profound & Hidden Things”

September 11, 2001 (Daniel 1-2; Revelation 16)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.” Daniel 2:22 NASB

Observation: All wisdom , power, and understanding come from God. Many times we try to operate in our own strength and wisdom only to find we don’t have what it takes. God alone reveals the profound and hidden things. He reveals them in His time. He knows what’s in the darkness because the light dwells with Him.

Application: To be completely dependant on God is a humbling experience. You realize just how inadequate you are at these moments. It’s in the moment you surrender to God that He reveals the profound and hidden things. He guides and protects you in the darkness because the light dwells with Him. Our faith and confidence in Him is strengthened when we put our trust in Him to see us through the darkness. He never fails, for His love is everlasting from generation to generation.

Prayer: Dear Lord thank You for Your mercy, goodness and grace. Forgive me for not trusting completely in You in the past. Help me trust You completely today. Forgive me for feeling like You failed me at times, for I’ve learned it was all for my good. Protect me from the evil that lurks in the darkness and deliver me from the snare of my enemies. I know You are working and nothing catches You by surprise. Thank You Lord for Your everlasting love and the salvation found in Your Son Jesus. In Jesus name, Amen.

“Silently wait for the Lord”

September 10, 2011 (Lamentations 3-5; Revelation 15)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “It is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the Lord.” Lamentations 3:26 NASB

Observation: When God is disciplining you or others it’s best to wait silently and let God work. We can easily cause ourselves more problems by speaking foolishly to God for His chastisement. When you are His, salvation, deliverance and understanding He will provide.

Application: All though you may face times and situations you don’y fully understand those who have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior of their life can have confidence in God. To wait silently is to place yourself in a position of hearing. When we constantly complain to God about what we’re facing we fail to hear what He’s teaching. The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, He is good to the person who seeks Him.

Prayer: Dear Father thank You for Your word that speaks wisdom to my soul. Thank You for the understanding You provide when I listen. Help me to hear what You are teaching me. Anoint me to do what You’ve called me to do. Cause my tongue to cleave to the roof of my mouth when I need to shut up and listen to you. Help me to embrace Your discipline and not despise it. In Jesus name, Amen.

“False & Foolish Visions”

September 9, 2011 (Lamentations 1-2; Obadiah; Revelation 14)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “Your prophets have seen for you false and foolish visions; and they have not exposed your iniquity so as to restore you from captivity, but they have seen for you false and misleading oracles.” Lamentations 2:14 NASB

Observation: One of the greatest down falls of Israel was the false prophecy given by the false prophets. They would say “Thus says the Lord” when the Lord had not spoken it. The people were led astray because they followed and put their trust in man, not God. The prophets should have exposed their iniquity in an effort to restore them from their captivity, but once they started the false prophecy ball, they could’nt stop it from rolling.

Application: Again, this scenario is repeating itself. Today many preachers only preach the positive, encouraging message that the people want to hear. They refuse to expose iniquity in an effort to restore people from the captivity sin has them in. Most today preach sin is inevitable and to abstain from it is a useless effort that will only lead to discouragement. Oh how we have followed the false prophets of old! Oh how we have listened to the false and foolish visions of man. Get out the Word of God and listen to it!

Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, thank You so much for Your word! Thank You for providing a way for me to see and understand. Fill me with Your Spirit and truth that will guide me through the last hour. Fill me with boldness of Your Spirit so that my mouth will speak the truth. Provide for me true visions that deliver and set free. Help me and others see the need to expose iniquity in an effort to restore from sin’s captivity. In Jesus name, Amen.

“Will You Listen?”

September 8, 2011 (Jeremiah 42-44; Psalm 48; Revelation 13)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “As for the message that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we are not going to listen to you!” Jeremiah 44:16 NASB

Observation: The leaders of Judah came to Jeremiah asking him to seek God on their behalf. Jeremiah did. When God gave the answer the leaders did’nt like it. They wanted Jeremiah to tell them what they wanted to hear, not the truth. Jeremiah spoke the truth to them and they rejected and rebelled against God’s word. Big mistake! They paid with their life.

Application: We live in a time where people don’t want to hear or abide by the truth of God’s word either. They want the ministers of God to tell them what they want to hear. Only good, positive, encouraging messages are accepted by the people today. Truth offends and demands surrender, we are not willing to listen to that! Rejecting God’s truth and going our own way will earn us the same outcome it earned them. Those who have an ear to hear, listen and obey.

Prayer: Praise and Glory to Your name Father! You are God and never change. The same yesterday, today and forevermore! I trust safely in You, knowing Your eye’s are upon me. Anoint my ears to hear the truth of Your word, anoint my being to obey what Your word says! I love You Lord and thank You for all You are! In Jesus name, Amen!

“Until there was no Remedy”

September 7, 2011 (2 Kings 25; 2 Chronicles 36; Jeremiah 40-41; Revelation 12)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “but they continually mocked the messengers of God, despised His words and scoffed at His prophets, until there was no remedy.” 2 Chronicles 36:16 NASB

Observation: These were people that just could’nt believe God was going to do all His prophets were proclaiming. They mocked the prophets and laughed at them, said surely they are insane. They despised the word of God and cast it aside as waste. They brought God’s wrath upon themselves by rejecting the God of Heaven. Eventually their was no remedy.

Application: The messengers of God are still mocked and scoffed at today as well. History has a cruel way of repeating it’s self. We should recognize the signs of the times but we are blinded by the darkness we walk in. God’s word is despised today just as much as it was then. We hear God’s word but refuse to heed His word. Therefore we have made it waste. The day will come when many people cry out in anguish but no remedy will be found.

Prayer: Father, help us to see You! Open our eyes to the repentance that is required. Save us from the destruction we bring upon ourselves. Cause our eyes to see the value of Your word before it’s too late. Strengthen those who speak for You, give them courage and boldness to proclaim the message You’ve provided. Jesus is our only remedy, send Him to us today, in Jesus name, Amen!

“It Will Be a Day of Clouds”

September 6, 2011 (Ezekiel 29-32; Revelation 11)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “For the day is near, even the day of the Lord is near; It will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.” Ezekiel 30:3 NASB

Observation: A warning is issued. Ezekiel was instructed by God to tell them the end was coming. A time of doom and destruction. A dreadful day that would come upon them with warning that was not heeded.

Application: God has warned us of a day coming as well. Many talk of that day and act like it will be a grand and glorious day for all. Each day that passes brings us closer to the day of the Lord. Are we heeding the warning? Do we really think today, could be that day? Are you living in a way that will be found to please God, or enrage His wrath? The day is coming, even the day of the Lord is near.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your patience. You have proven to be the perfect example of holiness. Help me I pray to be ready for the day Jesus steps out on the clouds and calls me to meet Him in the air. When that day comes, let Christ find faith in me. Anoint my hands to do things pleasing to You. Anoint my thoughts to think on You. Cleanse me of all unrighteousness and make my soul clean in Your site. Prepare me for Your day, in Jesus name, Amen.

“Because of Your Riches”

September 5, 2011 (Ezekiel 25-28; Revelation 10)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “By your great wisdom, by your trade you have increased your riches and your heart is lifted up because of your riches.” Ezekiel 28:5 NASB

Observation: Here we see the pride and arrogance of the king of Tyre. He had great ability to increase riches by the trade of that land. He made all the right “business” decisions. He increased so much that his wealth became his trust. His heart was lifted up by his accomplishments and riches instead of being lifted up by the one that created all things. Destruction came upon him because of this. Riches cannot be trusted, they are here today and gone tomorrow, but God is forever present and forever powerful.

Application: Here we learn the priceless lesson of who to put our trust in. Our abilities and accomplishments are blessings from God. He provides us these traits so that we can bring Him glory. When we trust in our abilities and accomplishments our trust is moved away from God. Suddenly we feel strong, and act as if we did all these things all by ourselves. Many rich men and women have come to the end of their lives only to discover that great wealth could do nothing for them. God provides and gives all things, He alone deserves and demands our trust.

Prayer: Thank You Father for providing abundantly for my family. I realize and understand all I have is Yours. I trust in You alone to provide all the skills, wisdom and ability, I will need to accomplish what Your will is for my life. Keep my eyes open and clear that I may only trust in You and never in the vanity of riches. Rid my soul of selfish pride and arrogance that trust in fading things. In Jesus name, Amen!
