September 14, 2011 (Ezekiel 36-37; Psalm 110; Revelation 19)
From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:
Scripture: “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready. It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” Revelation 19: 7-8 NASB
Observation: The wedding day is coming. Just as a bride spends hours preparing and making herself ready for her wedding day, the bride of Christ, the church, makes herself ready and she is clothed in fine linen, bright and clean. No stains, no spots, no blemishes. The fine linen the bride is clothed in is the righteous acts of the saints. Let us rejoice and be glad and give all the glory to God.
Application: What does “His bride has made herself ready” mean? What? We must prepare ourselves for the wedding day? The bride of Christ will be clothed in bright and clean fine linen. This fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. So how about you, are you prepared for Christ? Do you have righteous acts to be clothed with? There’s no better day than today to start getting ready for the wedding day, it’s coming. Get ready, so you can rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him in that hour!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father thank You for Your grace and mercy. Thank You for Your strength that gets me through each day. Help me Lord I pray, prepare myself for that wedding day. May the acts and deeds I perform be righteous in Your site and acceptable attire for that wedding day. Lord Jesus, come quickly and deliver Your bride to that great day of matrimonial bliss. In Jesus name, Amen.
