September 17, 2011 (Ezekiel 42-44; Revelation 22)
From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:
Scripture: “Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14 NASB
Observation: Those who have on a robe of righteousness will be permitted to enter into the new heavenly city. They will have the right to eat from the tree of life and live eternally. They will be blessed among all people and nations because of the cleansing power of the blood of the Lamb. They have washed their robe with the blood of Jesus and been clothed with righteousness white as snow.
Application: So where’s the ticket booth? I see no reference of a money exchanger collecting from those entering. I see no reference of those being able to buy their way in at any price. A robe of righteousness is what the requirement is. The only way to possess such robe is through Jesus Christ. There is no other way or means. No one will enter through the gates of that city without a robe of righteousness provided by Jesus the Christ. Has He washed you?
Prayer: Dear Lord, I so look forward to the day of that city. You are wonderful and merciful to offer such a sinner as me the opportunity to enter that heavenly place. With the blood of Jesus applied I’m assured I can enter through the gate clothed in proper attire. Thank You Lord! I pray today for those who have yet to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Go after the lost today Lord, one more time knock on the door of their heart. May they open the door and invite You in. May their lives be changed forever more, in Jesus name, Amen!
