September 18, 2011 (Ezekiel 45-46; Luke 1)
From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:
Scripture: “And His mercy is upon generation after generation toward those who fear Him.” Luke 1:50 NASB
Observation: Mary testified of God’s mercy toward those who fear Him. It flows from generation to generation blessing His whole creation. To fear the Lord is to respect Him and honor Him in our daily lives and actions.
Application: We all want and need God’s mercy, but are we willing to do what is required to receive it? Mercy is extended to those who fear God and walk in humility. To be arrogant and puffed up will most definitely lead you to a place where you need mercy. It’s far better to fear the Lord and rest in His mercy than to walk disorderly and be found far away from it.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I need Your mercy everyday. Thank You for extending Your mercy from generation to generation. Bless me with Your Spirit and anoint me to walk according to Your standards. Help me discern between what’s right or wrong and what’s holy or unclean. In Jesus name, Amen.
