“You!”

June 17, 2011 (I Kings 20-21; II Chronicles 17; Colossians 3)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “…Then he said, “Who shall begin the battle?” And he answered, You.” I Kings 20:14 NASB

Observation: The word of the Lord came to Ahab with a battle plan. When Ahab heard the plan he asked, who’s going to start this fight? (paraphrased) The Lord answered You! Most of the time defense is the role played by most, here we learn there is a time for offense as well.

Application: We must be aware of God’s plans. We must be obedient to the directions He provides us. Sometimes we need to go forth and start the fight! Don’t wait on satan to get a foothold then try to react. Be bold, guard your mind, your heart, your soul. Take charge against satan, for we are victorious in the Lord!

Prayer: Lord I pray you would provide me the wisdom to know when to start the fight. Help me discern the battle plans you’ve laid out. Keep me in the center of your will and protection, in Jesus name, Amen!
