June 14, 2011 (I Kings 15; II Chronicles 13-14; Philippians 4)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “…Lord, there is no one besides you to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name have come against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; let not man prevail against You.” II Chronicles 14:11 NASB

Observation: He is our God, our help, our strength, our protector. Indeed His Spirit is our guide and comfort. For without Him, we lose.

Application: Regonizing the reality of God being our only source of power and strength is a great step towards living a life of victory in Christ name. I’ve often prayed for God to strengthen me for the fight. I’ve even prayed for God not to let my enemies triumph over me. But I’ve never prayed “let not man prevail against you”. I didn’t understand that if my enemies won victory over me they would in reality be gaining victory over Christ, because He lives in me.

Prayer: Thank you Father for being my source of power, strength, and comfort. Protect me from evil, yet prepare me for battle. May I remember who my God is in the day of war. You are my God, for I trust in You. You are my God, let not man prevail against you! In Jesus name, Amen.
