From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:
Scripture: “He did evil because he did not set his heart to seek the Lord.” II Chronicles 12:14 NASB
Observation: If King Rehoboam could speak to us today, don’t you think he would tell us how important seeking the Lord is. We often get off track because of the intentions in our heart. Most people don’t start their day looking for opportunities to do evil things, but due to a lack of planning some time alone with God, we end up doing just that. Settling within ourselves the desire to seek God daily will guard us from committing evil acts.
Application:The time spent seeking the Lord has never been harmful to me. In fact every time I’ve sought God, His word has spoken to me. However, He didn’t deliver it on a silver platter every time. Sometimes I had to diligently seek Him. Sometimes I had to search and search before I found Him. In the end, I’ve been so blessed and protected because of the wisdom He has provided.
Prayer: Dear heavenly father, thank you for the desire to seek you. I know you placed that within me. Help me to remember the importance of finding you everyday. Protect me by your word. Deliver me from evil. Make the intentions of my heart pleasing to you. In Jesus name, Amen.
Thank you Adam – So encouraging
