“He Who Knows God Listens”

August 23, 2011 (Jeremiah 31-32; 1 John 4)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.” 1 John 4:6

Observation: Those who listen, receive and accept the message of Christ are God’s people. If people do not hear and receive the message of Christ that God has given us, they are none of His. We will know if a person is controlled by the spirit of truth or the spirit of error by the message they proclaim and the life they live.

Application: This is why we must “test” the spirits to see whether they are of God or not. When we hear a message given that is “from the Lord” we will know it by the spirit it is birthed from. We must study God’s word and be filled with the Holy Spirit to discern between the two spirits. Satan is clever enough to try to disguise himself as the spirit of truth but when the light of God’s word is shown upon him, he is exposed. Stay alert and test the spirits according to the truth of God’s word.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for Your presence that clearly shows us the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Fill me with the Holy Spirit Lord, so that I may rightly discern between the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Teach me Your word and revel to me Your truth, in Jesus name, Amen.
