“The Spirit of Grace”

July 13, 2011 (Isaiah 15-18; Hebrews 10)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?” Hebrews 10:29 NASB

Observation: The blood of Christ sacrifice is what sanctifies the believer. His blood does indeed wash our sins away, but does not allow us to continue in them. The sacrifice of Christ, freed us from the bondage of sin. We are “Free” to live for Christ. The believer has been buried in His death and has risen in His likeness. If we continue to walk in sin after coming to the knowledge of truth, we trample under foot the Son of God and have no sacrifice to cover our sins. Heb. 10:26

Application: If you have been “born again” live like it! Christ died to free you from the bondage of sin. No matter what the world, or the church says, you can walk uprightly and righteously before God through Christ Jesus. Remember it’s not you that lives, but Christ who lives in you. Most people say “we all sin everyday”, but Christ says you do NOT have too! He died for your freedom, don’t let satan cause Christ death to be in vain for you. Choose Christ today, and rid yourself of sin. You have been set Free!

Prayer: Father I pray today for those who have been taught, falsely, that they can’t help but sin. Reveal to us by Your Spirit that we are free from sin through Christ who lives in us. God forbid us from abusing Your grace as a covering for continual sin in our lives. Purge all sin from my life and through Christ strengthen me to resist the temptation when it comes. In Jesus name, Amen.
