“I Will Trust and Not Be Afraid”

July 12, 2011 (Isaiah 11-14; Hebrews 9)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2 NASB

Observation: In this life there are extreme highs and extreme lows. Up on the mountain it’s easy to trust God and not be afraid. When everything’s going our way our faith is strong, or so we think. Down in the valley is where we find out how strong our faith is. It’s there God teaches us to trust Him and comforts our fears. In the valley we learn God is our salvation.

Application: When all is well don’t forget God. I’ve seen so many cry out to God for help, only to forsake Him after He helps them. Praise God on the mountain, but don’t become prideful or arrogant, because your day in the valley is coming. When in the valley look to God for strength and comfort. He can be trusted. We know He’s our God. We know He hears our prayers. We know He see’s all things. We know He loves us, His children. Trust Him and don’t be afraid!

Prayer: Father, thank you so much for your word. You know how to uplift me when I’m down. Help me today to not be afraid. For I know you are watching over me with a Holy eye. I pray this morning for my adversaries, save them and set them free from the bondage of oppression their under. Send Jesus to the door of their heart today with the gift of salvation. In Jesus name, Amen.
