July 4, 2011 (II Kings 15-16; Hosea 1; Hebrews 1)
From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:
Scripture: “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son,” Hebrews 1:1 NASB
Observation: God has tremendous amounts of patience. When you study through the Old Testament there are so many prophets God sent to speak and many of them were killed for their message. But today we have the benefit of knowing their history and hearing directly from God’s Son, Jesus the Christ. Unfortunately, we don’t make decisions much differently than the people of the Old Testament.
Application: God has spoken to us in these last days through His Son Jesus. We must pay attention to the words He’s spoken. Seducing spirits and doctrines of devils have found their way in and are distorting the Gospel. Those who have an ear to hear, let them hear. Those who don’t need to pray God would give them ears to hear and eyes to see.
Prayer: Father, I come before you this morning seeking ears that hear. Anoint my eyes to see and my heart to receive your instruction. Heal and cleanse any distortion in my thoughts, actions and intents. You have spoken in your Son Jesus, touch me that I may hear the word He speaks. Help me not to hear only but apply it to my life, in Jesus name, Amen.
