“Lord, do you hear my prayer?”

July 1, 2011 (Isaiah 1-3; Titus 3)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood.” Isaiah 1:15 NASB

Observation: Our acts of religious service is an abomination to the Lord. Weekly meetings, topical sessions, yearly conferences, and yet we keep right on walking in iniquity without real change in our lives. Our programs and scheduled activities have become first priority. We leave no room for the Spirit to speak or direct. As we see in verse 15, these acts hinder our prayers and cover our hands with blood in the site of the Lord.

Application: We must “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from my site. Cease to do evil, learn to do good; Seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.” Isaiah 1:16,17 We must stop just going through the motions and start living the way God says live!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your mercy and grace. Teach me how to cleanse myself from anything that would cause you to turn away from me or my prayers. Help me apply your word to my life daily. I seek you for wisdom and direction, cause me to obey your command. In Jesus name, Amen.
