June 30, 2011 (Amos 7-9; Psalm 104; Titus 2)
From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:
Scripture: “Behold, days are coming, declares the Lord God, When I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, but rather for hearing the words of the Lord.” Amos 8:11 NASB
Observation: Days are coming, well maybe they are already here in America. People are starving to death spiritually because they are to lazy to feed themselves. Everybody wants God to feed them on a silver platter with blessing, peace and safety. In a famine, you fight for every morsel.
Application: Seek Him, while He may be found. Get out of the buffet line and feast on God’s word! Introduce yourself to the teacher of Wisdom and learn how to please God. Wisdom’s instructions will help you avoid painful consequences. God will take care of those that are His. He knows who you are and you know His voice.
Prayer: Father thank you for your word that warns us of things to come. Establish my heart and set it toward you. Fill me with nourishment that fades not away. Strengthen me to walk in your statutes and obey your word. In Jesus name, Amen.
