What Purpose?

June 29, 2011 (Amos 4-6; Psalm 86-87; Titus 1)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “…For what purpose will the day of the Lord be to you?” Amos 5:18 NASB

Observation: The day of the Lord is coming. What will it bring for you? Victory and eternal life with God the Father or defeat and eternal separation from God forever?

Application: In verse 4 He said, “Seek Me that you may live”. Now is the time to seek Him, not on the day of His coming. We don’t know the hour nor the day, but we do know He’s coming. We must be ready at all times! Have oil in our lamps, burning with His light. If we do this, the purpose of that day will be joyful, not regretful.

Prayer: Father thank you for your blessings, thank you for your word that speaks boldly to my soul completely. Teach me your word and your will. Prepare me for the day of your return and make the purpose of that day joyful for me. Anoint my ears to hear and my heart to receive your instruction. Strengthen my flesh to walk in your ways, in Jesus name, Amen.
