“Useful To The Master”

June 26, 2011 ( Jonah 1-4; II Timothy 2)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.” II Timothy 2:21 NASB

Observation: To be a vessel that brings honor to God we must cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2 Corinthians 7:1 KJV) The Holy Spirit sanctifies us, makes us useful and prepares us for every good work.

Application: I don’t see many people striving towards perfection for a life of holiness these days. We have heard so many times, “we can’t do it” that we have began to believe this, so we’ve said what’s the use in trying. But our victory is not in what the world says we can achieve. Our victory is in Christ Jesus! He said we can live a life of holiness and I believe Him! I want to be a vessel that brings honor to God, sanctified, useful to my Master.

Prayer: Father thank you for this day, you know what all it holds for me. Keep me safe and protected. Continue to sanctify me and set me apart for your glory. Show me how to live a life of holiness that is pleasing to you. With Christ in me, I know it can be achieved. In Jesus name, Amen.
