August 19, 2011 (Jeremiah 45-47; Psalm 105; John 21)
From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:
Scripture: “So that they might keep His statutes and observe His laws, Praise the Lord.” Psalm 105:45 NASB
Observation: He spread out a cloud for a covering, He started a fire to illuminate the night, He satisfied them with manna and quail from heaven, He opened the rock and fresh water ran out, He delivered his people from Pharaoh’s army, they crossed over on dry ground and rejoiced with a joyful shout, He gave them also the land of promise, Why? So that they might keep His statutes and observe His laws! Wow! Praise the Lord!
Application: We often forget to look back and remember what all God has done for us. All the valley’s He has carried us through, all the mountains of joy we have experienced at the hand of His mercy. All the blessings He gave, that we didn’t deserve. The daily bread we eat, the clothes we wear, the car we drive, the roof over our head, the health we enjoy, the gift of His Spirit that guides, the Salvation we have through His Son, Jesus. All this He has given freely, in hopes that we would keep His statutes and observe His laws. We really should, Praise the Lord!
Prayer: Praise You Father, You are awesome and holy! You have given me so much, thank you. May I be content with all You’ve allowed me to manage, may I manage it in a way that pleases You. Thank you for all the things You’ve done for me in the past, thank you for all you’re doing for me now, thank You for all You’re going to do in the future. I praise You! I worship You! I love You, You are my God and I am Your son. In Jesus name, Amen!
