July 17, 2011 (Isaiah 29-31; James 1)
From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:
Scripture: “Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.” Isaiah 30:21 NASB
Observation: When we walk with God, He guides our path. To hear this “word” you must be in a right relationship with God. He demands repentance from His people. He commands all worthless idols be torn down and destroyed. He is a jealous God and He will not share you with another!
Application: I long to hear the voice of God lead me. When I turn to the right or left I must consult Him and listen for the words “This is the way, walk in it”. It’s not always easy to hear. Sometimes, in fact most times, for me to hear I have to seek God in His word. He is still training my ear to hear His voice, but the more I hide His word in my heart, I hear Him more clearly.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You for who You are. I long for and desire to hear Your word lead me. Make Your plans, my plans. Make Your ways, my ways. Cause my ears to understand Your voice. Help me hear Your wisdom and take heed before I go astray. Protect me from discouragement and depression. Let Your face shine upon me and let favor be found in Your sight. In Jesus name, Amen.
