“Gate Keeper”

June 23, 2011 (II Kings 10; II Chronicles 22-23; I Timothy 5)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “He stationed the gatekeepers of the house of the Lord, so that no one would enter who was in any way unclean.” II Chronicles 23:19 NASB

Observation: Jehoiada had gatekeepers to keep people out of the house of the Lord that were unclean. Today, we tout the church as a place for the unclean to come, but have to entice them to get them to come. People are strange! Maybe we should put guards up at the church to keep people out so that they would want to come!

Application: Okay maybe I got carried away a little bit with my observation. But think about it. How wonderful is it to know we can approach the throne of grace boldly through Christ Jesus. We are made clean through His sacrifice and His blood that was shed. If we could only share with the world the blessing of having a relationship with Jesus, wow, how much of a difference it would make! Let’s start with those God places before us today, tell somebody about what Jesus has done for you!

Prayer: Dear heavenly father, thank you so much for Jesus. Thank you for the cleansing power in His blood. Thank you that I can worship you and raise up clean hands with Christ in me! May the desire to worship you continue to grow in my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
