“Proclaiming The Message”

August 15, 2011 (Jeremiah 18-20; Psalm 93; John 17)

From the Life Journal of Adam Proux:

Scripture: “For each time I speak, I cry aloud; I proclaim violence and destruction, because for me the word of the Lord has resulted in reproach and derision all day long.” Jeremiah 20:8 NASB

Observation: Jeremiah was weary from the message God had given him to proclaim. The nation had gone so far from God and was so sinful that violence and destruction was all that was prophisied to them. Jeremiah was given the duty of sounding the alarm to a people who’s ears were dull of hearing and who’s necks were stiff and refused to turn from their own ways.

Application: Where are the Jeremiah’s today? America has turned from God and is steadily removing God from it’s society. Violence and destruction is coming! If we proclaim the message God has given us and sound the alarm we receive the same response Jeremiah did. Our word’s, the message God sent forth with us, have been mocked and laughed at, despised and rejected boastfully. God’s wrath is coming, just like He promised!

Prayer: Dear Father, help me to stand firm and strong when proclaiming the message You’ve given me. Cast off and deliver me from the distractions the enemy has brought against me. Use this situation to further the warning message You’ve given and bring glory to Your name. Build a hedge of protection around me that the enemy cannot penetrate. Keep me safe under Your almighty arm, in Jesus name, Amen.
